Writing a story about leading Democratic candidates and (more of) their words on the economy? No need to include John Edwards, someone who has been talking about economic stimulus for the past several months, because Reuters is leading the way in expunging John Edwards from the national narrative.
Democratic presidential hopefuls Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama ramped up their calls on Thursday for emergency action to stimulate the struggling U.S. economy
You see, journalistically, this would have been a good time to add, "John Edwards, meanwhile, pointed out the possibility of a recession as many as two months ago and has been calling for decisive action just as long."
Instead, Reuters did not mention Edwards' name once in this article.
Frankly, I'm tired of this. These people are afraid of someone who is willing to speak the truth in the White House, and for all the blabber about "truth" and "change" among the leading candidates, the REAL TRUTH and the REAL CHANGE would be a President who is willing to identify and rectify many of the real problems we face as a nation: lobbyists assaulting the middle class, pork barrel spending (often contrived by the very same lobbyists), and lack of basic, decent, human care for every American, especially our elderly and veterans.
I guess Reuters doesn't care about veterans who sleep under bridges. I would say "to each his own, I suppose," but this is my America too. Which I why I support John Edwards, and speak on his behalf when Reuters willingly refuses.
At the very least, the author could have thrown in a little, "Meanwhile, Edwards was campaigning at..." Can John get even a little respect?
